Lincoln Gymnastics Club
Artistic Gymnastics

In 1972, Marta started the first Artistic and Rhythmic club for girls in the Peninsula: the Lincoln Gymnastics Club. She was the Head Coach of both sections for 20 years. In the same year, she was employed by the Lincoln Board of Education as a visiting coach for all its schools, from Smithville to Niagara-on-the-Lake.
These are the artistic and rhythmic gymnasts, plus coaches and assistants,of the Lincoln club.
The athletes with a white/blue collar are the competitors.

The young man in blue track suit, seated on the floor in front, is Joe McCarthy from the YMCA. He was Marta's only helper for years, her "right hand". He was a high-school student and enjoyed helping out at the gym, e.g. 'spotting' the gymnasts who were training on the various artistic gym apparatus.

When Marta decided not to continue coaching Artistic Gymnastics, just focus on Rhythmic, two of her former gymnasts took over this part of the club: Lindy Desantis (left in the photo on the left) and Vicky Jamieson.
