Rhythmic Waves is the creation of Marta Selmeczi’s, who is one of the pioneers in both Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics in Ontario, as well as in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics!
Early Years: the ‘Y’, The Olympiquettes & the Niagara District Secondary School
Marta started Children’s Artistic Gymnastics at the ‘Y’ in Sault Ste. Marie. She continued working at the ‘Y’ in St. Catherines where she started the Y girls’ artistic gymnastics club in 1966. It was called ‘Olympiquettes’
Lincoln Gymnastics Club: Artistic Gymnastics
In 1972, Marta started the first Artistic and Rhythmic club for girls in the Peninsula: the Lincoln Gymnastics Club.

During seven years of its existence, the Lincoln Gymnastics Club was, thanks to Dr. Loewenberger
Rhythmic Gymnastics Club: Rhythmic and Aesthetic Group Gymnastics
In 1991, Marta started the first women’s all Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics club in the Niagara peninsula: The Rhythmic Waves Gymnastics Club.
